Today I learned: A11Y is a numeronym!
I’m currently 20% of the way through Sara Soueidan’s Practical Accessibility course, and the insights have been eye-opening — this being one of them!
The “11” just represents the eleven letters between the “A” and the “Y” in the word “Accessibility”.
I don’t know why I haven’t questioned this before or delved deeper. Maybe it’s a gentle reminder that curiosity is something that often gets lost in the daily grind, and it feels good to rediscover it.
